Changes to my Study programme
The career I am studying, as I have already mentioned in my previous blogs, is social work and I am currently in my second year. When I started studying, I only had a superficial idea of what the degree was about, however, these years have taught me that what I am studying is much more than I thought.
It is a sadness that I have entered this career online mode,
as I feel like I am losing a large part of it. For the same reason I cannot
speak about the infrastructure or the use of technology beyond the computer in
my room, as I have never set a foot on campus or the faculty.
Personally, I consider that the curriculum of my career is
quite complete, although I cannot imagine the amount of work that goes into
creating a curriculum, I think that it is a great job that marks the lives of
both the professionals who practice it, as well as the society that receives
them. Creating careers in a way that meets the theoretical and practical bases
to meet the needs of a society is a great challenge, especially because society
is constantly changing and as professionals you have to adapt to those changes.
Based on my academic experience, a suggestion that I could
make to my curriculum would be to incorporate more places in the foreign
language branches, since the same professors from the career invite us to study
with other perspectives from other countries, especially pioneers in philosophy
and social sciences, however I have realized that it is very difficult to be
accepted in a field such as German or Portuguese, since the quotas are for 5
people, I feel that it would open up the research horizon to be able to read
papers in other languages.
I think the same. They should grant more places for foreign language courses, so that we can develop in other countries and in other cultures.
